The Institution of Chinese Agricultural Civilization is an open academic institution under the leadership of the Assembly of Fellows that implements a dean responsibility system. A full-time research team at its core is supported by adjunct personnel, domestic and foreign visiting scholars and post-doctoral research personnel. Linked by scientific research projects, it integrates the powers of China’s agricultural history and science and technology history to carry out comprehensive scientific research, talent cultivation, and information collection and propagation.
      Under the wing of the institution is the office, two research bases (Chinese Agricultural History Research Center of Jiangsu Higher Education Philosophy and Social Sciences Key Research Base, Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Base of Jiangsu Province), and six research centers (Center of Agricultural Cultural Heritage Preservation, Center of Crop History, Center of Animal Husbandry and Veterinarian History, Center of Chinese and Foreign Agricultural Cultural Exchange, Center of Modern Agricultural History, and Center of the Digitalization of Agricultural Historical Documents). The Institution has set up the editorial department for the Journal of Agricultural History of China, and has established the Chinese Agricultural Civilization Museum, Chinese Agricultural Civilization website and the Information Resource Center of Chinese Agricultural Heritage.
