The Journal of Agricultural History of China

          Agricultural History of China being administrated by Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China is jointly sponsored by the National-level China Agricultural History Association, the Institution of Chinese Agricultural Heritage of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences— Nanjing Agricultural University and China Agricultural Museum, which is China’s sole professional and academic journal in the field of agricultural history.
          Agricultural History of China was founded in 1981, the name of which was inscribed by the renowned historian, Mr. Zhou Gucheng. For over thirty years, with the enthusiastic support of its readers and authors, it has developed into one of the China’s three major economic history journals widely-recognized in academia and has had a fairly far-reaching international influence.
          The Journal of Agricultural History of China has been successively listed as by the A Guide to Core Journals of China (GCJC) as a core journal in China’s history category, a core journal in China’s humanities, social sciences and history category, and a source journal for Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI).Meanwhile, articles published on Agricultural History of China are cited by periodicals such as History Abstracts in the U.S., American History and Life, and Chinese Geographical Sciences Digest. The journal is issued in over 30 countries and regions including the U.S., U.K, the Netherlands, Japan, and Korea.
          Agricultural History of China seeks to represent the highest academic standard of Chinese agricultural history and perseveres to encourage diverse viewpoints and various schools of thinking. Articles published in the journal include different aspects such as agriculture, forestry, livestock farming, subsidiary industry and fisher. Its content involves many fields such as the history of agricultural science and technology, agro-economic history, history of rural society, local agricultural history, ethnic minority agricultural history, agricultural cultural heritage preservation, world agricultural history, domestic and foreign agricultural cultural exchange, as well as the collation and study of agricultural documents. In addition, it publishes works conducive to the study of agricultural history such as commentaries on newly-published agricultural history books, information on agricultural history forums, and reading notes on history.
